Liczba awarii z udziałem gazu LPG zwiększają się każdego roku. Następstwem tego faktu jest zwiększenie ilości działań ratowniczych prowadzonych przez jednostki Państwowej Straży Pożarnej. Złożoność zjawisk występujących podczas tego typu awarii prowadzi do konieczności dokładnego ich poznania. Wynika to przede wszystkim z potrzeby zachowania wysokich standardów bezpieczeństwa dla ratowników i skuteczności wybranej technologii ratowniczej. Artykuł omawia aktualne problemy związane z mechanizmami awarii zbiorników ciśnieniowych magazynujących LPG, szczególnie zagadnienia przemian termodynamicznych gazu w zbiorniku w wyniku oddziaływania promieniowania cieplnego od pożaru strumieniowego.

Number of accidents involving LPG has been increasing each year. The corollary of this fact is to enhance the rescue operations conducted by the State Fire Service units. The complexity of the phenomena occurring during this type of failure leads to the need for thorough understanding. This is mainly due to the need to maintain high standards of safety and efficacy of emergency rescue technology chosen. The article discusses the current problems associated with the mechanisms of failure of LPG storage tank pressure, particularly issues of thermodynamic processes of gas in the tank as a result of the impact of thermal radiation, from the jetfire.
