PL
Podczas spalania polimerów wydziela się dużo energii, dymów oraz gazowych produktów, mających często właściwości toksyczne. Dlatego palność większości polimerów ogranicza ich stosowanie do wytwarzania niektórych wyrobów dla zastosowań obronnych i cywilnych. Omówiono podstawowe kryteria i metody badań polimerów w aspekcie ich zachowania się podczas pożaru.

Polymer flammability limits their application for military and civil purposes because a large amount of energy, smoke and gaseous products (often toxic) are emitted when burning. In the paper, the most important criteria and testing methods of polymer flammability are discussed.
