Po 14 latach budowy warszawskie metro dotarło bezpośrednio do środka stolicy, w maju 1998 r. oddano do użytku kolejną stację - "Centrum". Początkowe obawy władz miasta, że mieszkańcy nie będą chcieli porzucić autobusów i przesiąść się do kolei podziemnej, okazały się płonne. Tymczasem z metra zaczęły korzystać miliony ludzi. W artykule omówiono konstrukcje stacji metra, skupiając się szczegółowiej na najmłodszej, dwunastej stacji "Centrum". Podano jej parametry i przedstawiono wykonawców. W podsumowaniu stwierdzono m.in., że uruchomienie stacji "Centrum" pozwoliło zintegrować linie metra z systemem komunikacji miejskiej.

After 14 years of construction works the Warsaw sub-way reached the centre of the capital city. In May 1998 the "Centrum" station was opened for operation. The initial fears of the municipal authorities that the inhabitants will not be willing to give up buses and transferred to sub-way trains proved to be wrong. Millions of people started to take advantage of the sub-way. The article presents structures of the sub-way concentrating in more details on the youngest, the twelfth "Centrum" station. It gives parameters and presents the executors. In summing up it has been started, among others, that starting the "Centrum" station enabled to integrate the subway's line with the municipal transportation system.
