Using solar energy leads to decreasing of electricity consumption and to reduced use of coolants being harmful to the ozone layer. In addition, the use of solar energy for cooling in HVAC systems becomes more and more common. This is possible primarily in sunny climates. The water used for lowering temperature and humidity during the summertime as a rule is cooled with the common compression refrigerators. For this purpose solar collectors with ammonia or lithium-bromide chillers can be used. The desorber of such absorption chiller is supplied with hot water obtained from solar collectors. In this paper a simulation of absorption ammonia chiller powered from solar collectors is presented.
