Briefly analyzing the visions of such utopians as Le Corbusier, Rem Koolhaas, Superstudio and Archizoom the article outlines liaisons between the realm of architecture and the phenomenon of utopia. The comparison is based on principles of utopia as the literatural kind and sociological idea and on Manfred Tafuri.s writings concerning the avant-gardes' ideology as an expression of social and economical thought.
