There are two kinds of architecture: the real one and the fake one. The real architecture as opposed to the fake one has to be created in freedom. This freedom does not mean the lack of utilitarian requirements but, like in the case of other fine arts, the freedom of non - existing at all. If it is created in freedom it will involve users imagination. As Wim Wenders says: "Look at books. A novel. A poem. You' re reading. How do You read? What is it that makes the story Yours, so You can enter it? It' s not just what is written there. It's what's not written. (...) That' s where your imagination enters (...)" (Wenders,2002). It it involves user's imagination then it can be memorized. It will not be: "consumed, digested and forgotten"; It it leaves the space for everyone's imagination then it can not be perfect. "Perfection, even when achievable, brings death" (Steiner, 2004). As our poet Zbigniew Herbert once said: "One should enter rock, wood, water, the cracks of the gate.Better to be the creaking of the floor than shrilly transparent perfection". (transl. Cz. Miłosz). The architectural skill can be measured by the extent to which the architect can enter the used material and exercise his fluency. But to the real creator every finished building is a witness of the failure, because the real, turned-in building is always nothing compared to the richness of the problem which appeared at the beginning. That's why we struggle.
