Abstrakty

EN

The pavilions and tacility buildings as well as main World's Fair themes are commonly conceived as temporary constructions. In some cases however they last longer than exhibitions themselves. The most widely known example is La Tour Eiffel but also London Crystal Palace served for eighty years until it burned out in 1936. When the plan of national pavilions was adopted by Fair's organizers it effected with designs of several timeless, although temporary, pieces of architecture. One of those was Polish pavilion on World of Tomorrow exhibition in New York in 1939.
