Abstrakty

EN

Zbigniew Herbert, who perceives architecture as an art of "fantasy and stone", created a poetic definition according to which the architecture is coupled of matter and metaphysics. New media, image culture contribute to changes in notion of time and space. Therefore, "the stone", as a symbol of permanence and refuge, is loosing its meaning. Modern architecture is the art of events and space. The space, which is understood as sort of moving scenery, in which the decorations are influenced by illumination and the presence of man. Thus, the light becomes important material for "production and multiplication" of architectonic space. A dematerialization process changes tasks of architecture that for ages has been a refuge for humans and metaphysics.
