The present work deals with the development of novel startup concepts for the separation of zeotropic mixtures in industrial distillation columns. It focuses on extending of former ideas, and also providing a generalisation of the problem. The development of an automatic, recipe-based procedure for industrial distillation columns separating zeotropic mixtures into two products will be presented.
