This paper concerns the influence of the sun's radiation on a room's heating requirements. The thermal behaviour of a heated building under random external factors has been modelled. These factors are: solar radiation and outdoor temperature. The principle of superposition has been applied to the deterministic and to the random components of both weather variables as well as to the state variables of the analysed room. Histograms of regulated heating loads and inside temperature are presented. The histograms for the room, where solar gains have been included in its heat balance have been followed by those without solar contribution.
