Abstrakty
The contemporary conception of the hotel, created in the second half of the 18th century and developed throughout the 19th century, aimed at creating the best spatial-functional scheme repeated all over Europe. Along with the development of techological progress, the quality of services was being improved and some former hotel concepts were being replaced with new objects, which stunned with their size, comfort and splendour. Extending the functional space for accommodation in the form of: a representative lobby, a lounge, a ballroom, a restaurant and a cafe, a library and a reading room, surgeries and bathing complexes significantly increased the quality of hotels. The principle of creating in an inn a service in the form of a ballroom marks the beginning of the history of the contemporary hotel development. That fact made it possible for the earlier forms of inns to acquire the status of hotels.
