A method of prediction granular activated carbon media expansion

Abstrakty
Recently developed method of Granular Activated Carbon expansion was applied for the product of the Chemviron Carbon company - Filtrasorb 200. A general formula describing percentage of media expansion as a function of backwash rate and water temperature was formulated and proved to give a satisfactory accuracy for technical applications.
