Symmetrical polynomials of multiple variables in electrical circuits : classification, arrangement, quantity, terminology

Abstrakty
The paper presents the most important results in the research of symmetrical polynomials of multiple variables which are applied, among others, for electrical circuits. It gives a definition and presents a general idea of a special notation of symmetrical polynomials called a spectral notation. This notation is of a specific character - all formulas are free from the number of variables and the essential properties of symmetrical polynomials remain open for further analysis. Finally, the set of symmetrical polynomials is classified, arranged, counted and some of its elements are named. As a result of these elementary set operations a certain relation system is created as a foundation for further, more advanced research in this domain. The paper ends with an example showing how to express a given symmetrical polynomial in terms of the so called cardinal spectrals, important in engineering applications.
