In the paper an benchmark test for the CFD PHOENICS program has been presented. Test problem analysed consistd of normalised orifice measuring system with connecting pipes. The inlet velocity of the air has been given and the pressure difference before and after the orifice plate has been calculated. The main aim of the presented simulation was to find out how accurate the computed results may be in comparison with the data calculated according to PN-93/M/53950/01. The precision of calculated values depending of a grid arrangement and used solver method has been shown. The shapes of p(m) functions, bars of mass flow and finally a calculation time have been shown
