Modelling of the dynamics of the convective heating surfaces of boilers

The paper presents numerical solutions of transient flow in various heating of the boilers, often placed within a single-gas pass. The approximate numerical solutions were suggested and afterwards compared to existing exact analytic solutions. The time and space temperature distributions of the working media and separating walls were evaluated for the parallel flow as well as for counter flow. In order to analyse the combustion gases-to-water heat flow, the solutions considering heat accumulation in combustion gases were compared against these not considering the accumulation. The solutions obtained by separation of the wall into two control volumes were compared against the results considering only its mean temperature. Furthermore, the partial differential equations systems describing the dynamics of the above mentioned surface were solved using the method of lines coupled with the Gear's method, and the obtained solutions were compared with available analytical solutions and with a sugested numerical solution.
