Abstrakty
Precise general solution for transient temperature field in a half-space during the surface step-heating is presented. The solution takes into account the difference between fluid and initial body temperature. Advantages of utilizing the solution for the case of equal fluid and initial body temperature for determining the heat transfer coefficient has been pointed out. In this context, the use of liquid crystal thermography technique has been considered in combination with the solutions for the surface. Additionaly, the possibility of the use of temperature records at points situated not deeply under the surface has been produced in a case of invisibility or inaccessibility of the surface. Moreover, the anlytical solution has been presented in a dimensionless mode for the case of fluid and initial body temperatures being equal. Sensitivity of the measuring errors has been discussed.
