W artykule przedstawiono wielkości, jednostki miar, ich nazwy, symbole (oznaczenia), przedrostki i definicje, stosowane w telekomunikacji, nauce i technice informacyjnej. Szczegółowo rozpatrzono logarytmiczne wielkości stosunkowe ich specjalistyczne jednostki, oznaczenia i definicje. Ponadto przedstawiono nowe nazwy i ich oznaczenia, przyjęte w normach ISO/IEC i EN, binarnych wielokrotności używanych w elektryce, głównie w technice przetwarzania i transmisji danych.

The paper presents quantities and units used in telecommunications, information science and technology, their names, symbols, prefixes and definitions. It covers in particular the logarithmic relative quantities, and their special units, symbols and definitions. Moreover, new names and symbols, approved as ISO/IEC and EN standards for binary multiples for use in electrical engineering, especially in the field of data processing and data transmission are presented.
