One of the main targets of every organization is to achieve profit. This is only possible to achieve, when the organ-ization continuously adapts to the changing market conditions, by distinguishing itself among the competitors, as well as of-fering new products and services that would better comply with customers' requirements. Keeping the pace of the changes requires proper development of the organization and among different enabling factors, one of the most important arę prod-uct and organisational innovations. The implementation of innovations enables to offer improved, morę technically advanced and functional products, as weU as provide new services, that better match die individual needs and expectations of die potential consumer. The actions that lead to the implementation of product or organizational innovation result in certain advantages that die company might achieve. The article investigates die possible outcomes of the research and development processes within the organisation.
