What is more poetic: the syllogism "All humans are mortal/Adam is human/thus Adam is mortal" or the poem on the inevitability of death by Wistawa Szymborska? The poet could express her idea in a manifold ways; the conclusion of the syllogism is unique and necessary. Stars could burn out, heaven and earth could pass away, but the conclusion of the syllogism will remain true forever. This is the poetry of consequence. The Woronin theorem provides its more spectacular example. It says that any sufficiently regular function can be approximated, with any accuracy, by the Riemann zeta function. This means that Szymborska's poem (and all other poems as well), if written in a "sufficiently smooth way", are contained in the Riemann function. Strictly speaking, it is not Szymborska's poem that is contained in the zeta function, but the shape in which it is encoded. This opens for the author a field to formulate a few remarks concerning the relationship between mathematics and poetry.
