Z okazji ważnych rocznic: 400-setnej rocznicy użycia przez Galileusza lunety do obserwacji nieba, 400-setnej rocznicy opublikowania przez Keplera dzieła "Astronomia nova", 90-tej rocznicy powstania Międzynarodowej Unii Astronomicznej i 40-tej rocznicy lądowania przez człowieka na Księżycu ONZ ogłosiła rok 2009 Międzynarodowym Rokiem Astronomii. W skali ogólnoświatowej obchody były organizowane przez Międzynarodową Unię Astronomiczną, a w Polsce przez Polskie Towarzystwo Astronomiczne i Komitet Astronomii PAN. Rok ten już się skończył, przyszedł czas na podsumowania i refleksję nad przyszłością edukacji i popularyzacji astronomii i w ogóle nauk ścisłych.

On the occasion of the important anniversaries: the 400th anniversary of the use by Galileo Galilei of the telescope for the sky observation, the 400th anniversary of the publication by Kepler of the work "Astronomia nova", the ninetieth anniversary of the establishment of the International Astronomical Union and the fortieth anniversary of the landing of the man on the Moon the United Nations have proclaimed the year 2009 the International Year of Astronomy. In the worldwide scale the celebrations were organized by the International Astronomical Union and in Poland both by the Polish Astronomical Society and the Committee of Astronomy of the Polish Academy of Sciences. This year has just finished and time came to summarize and make reflections on the future of education and popularization of astronomy and in general of science.
