When a gimbal-mounted gyroscope revolves (Ω) on a circular path or on the center of a turntable in the direction opposite to the gyroscope spin (ω) (ω > Ω), the symmetry axis reverses from θ = 180° to θ = 0° and aligns with the vertical axis of revolution. This paper corrects the classic statement on this problem and proposes that the external torque originates in the gyroscopic effect by revolution, an effect ultimately caused by friction.
