Computer simulations with the Monte Carlo software GEANT4

Abstrakty
The modern Monte Carlo simulation software GEANT4 (Geometry ANd Tracking), developed by a collaboration of scientists from Europe, United States, Russia, Canada, and Japan, and primarily intended as a toolkit for simulation of detectors in high-energy physics, is described. Various other applications, such as heavy-ions and standard radiotherapy, are presented, and the big potential of the freely-distributed, easy-to-use GEANT4 source codes is stressed.
