The article presents arguments for the application of ecola-bels. It particularly stresses the role of public authorities in creating the so-called 'green demand', i. e. demand for ecologically-friendly products and services, The paper goes on to present the European eco-labelling in full detail. The discussed aspects include the application process, fees and principles for exposing the eco-label. Besides, the article points out the sources of additional information on various aspects of eco-labelling (mainly Web sites).
