Information is a form of knowledge needed to the determination and realization of tasks, serving for achievement of organizational goals. Therefore in the Chair of Quality Management Systems at the Naval University in Gdynia, was the special and specific information unity organized. It gathers information related to quality systems, serving for students and researchers of that organization. It cooperates with the University Main Library, using computerized common catalogues, what makes much easier and quicker access to all materials existing. Some exhibitions organized ultimately, like "quality management" or "integrated management systems", found very high interest among students and employees. Based on this, the didactic programmes involve nowaday such new subjects like "environmental management", "integrated management systems" or "safety management", permitting the realization of graduation elaborations and diplomas. The functioning of that unity is presented here, with an intention of dissemination of its role, tasks and goals in other educational institutions.
