Abstrakty
A fast, simple and accurate SPE-HPLC method has recently been developed for simultaneous determination of the ionized and non-ionized fractions of carbamazepine (CBZ) and its main metabolites carbamazepi-ne-10,11-epoxide (CBZ-10,11-E) and carbamazepine-10,11-trans-dihy-droxycarbamazepine (CBZ-10,11-D). This study has determined the influence of pH on the ratio of the ionized to non-ionized forms of these compounds. The usefulness of the method for therapeutic monitoring of anti-epileptic drugs was also evaluated.
