Four stages of structural evolution of the Niedzica Castle tectonic window (Pieniny Klippen Belt, West Carpathians, Poland) are distinguished. The first two stages include: (1) the late-Subhercynian (Campanian) nappe folding; and (2) the Laramian (Early Paleocene) refolding of the nappes and their sedimentary cover (Maastrichtian Jarmuta Fm.). The next two stages include: (3) piling up of older structures (1, 2) during the compressive/transpressive Savian phase (Early Miocene); (4) fragmentation of older structures (1-3) by a strike-slip fault system of Late Miocene (Sarmatian) age.
