The paper presents an upwind finite element analysis for travelling magnetic field problems. In the formulation of this method, an upwind interpolation function that has been suggested in the field of the finite analytic method, is introduced into the magnetic field analysis. The basic scheme is reviewed by using some simple models, which can be solved analytically. The example demonstrated the effectiveness of this method and its applicability in travelling magnetic field problems. Furthermore we achieve simplicity of formulation and accurate calculation of the motional term.
