W artykule przedstawiono analizę zawartości trzydziestu tomów "Polskiego Przeglądu Kartograficznego". Zwrócono uwagę na aktywność poszczególnych ośrodków naukowych i autorów publikacji zamieszczonych w czasopiśmie.

Thirty years passed in 1998 since the launch of the "Polish Cartographical Review". It is a good opportunity to prepare a statistical and graphic analysis of the content of the already published volumes containing 6,281 pages (114 numbers, including 6 double-sized). The periodical contains the following permanent sections: Articles and Notes, Reviews, Editorial News, Reports as well as Occasional Publications. The section of Articles and Notes occupies more than half of the total content of the quaterly, numbering 554 items published over that period, the majority of which (over 20%) being devoted to the history of cartography, especially to the history of Polish cartography. A number of papers fall into the theory of cartography group. Almost 8% of them are devoted to thematic cartography. Also, some papers on computer cartography appeared. Almost 70% of them have been published over the last eight years, although single papers on computer cartography appeared since the very beginning of the periodical. Over 12% of the total number of papers contain reports on Polish and international cartographic activities. Over the 30-year period of the periodical's existence 405 reviews have been published, devoted both to cartographic literature (36%) and to maps and atlases. International publications have been reviewed much more often. However, as to the map reviews, Polish maps are reviewed much more often. The Editorial News sections systematically reports on recent atlases, maps and cartographic literature. Over 14 thousand items are listed in this section, of which cartographic literature comprises 60% of the total. The Reports section comprises the largest number of articles published in our periodical. It is a chronicle of the most vital events in Polish and International cartography. Among the national events activities of the Cartographic Commission of the Polish Geographical Society were most often reported on. As to the international events the focus in on the ICA activities. Authors affiliated to Warsaw institutions and companies contributed the largest number of papers. Both the majority of authors and institutions they represented originated from Warsaw. Also, we have had 30 non-Polish authors so far. Finally, the continuous process of improving the graphic quality of the "Polish Cartographic Review" should also be noticed.
