Integralnym elementem rolnictwa ekologicznego jest system kontroli produkcji, który służy uwiarygodnieniu producenta i produktów. Kontrola prowadzona przez upoważnione jednostki certyfikujące jest warunkiem wprowadzania do obrotu produktów oznakowanych z powołaniem na rolnictwo ekologiczne. W pracy przedstawiono zalożenia merytoryczne (kontrola produkcji zamiast kontroli produktu) oraz prawno-organizacyjne systemu. Zarysowano rozwój systemu od dobrowolnych ustaleń sektora ekorolniczego do obecnie obowiązujących regulacji prawnych.

A crucial point of organic agriculture concept is an inspection system, aiming at verifying producers and products. Inspections performed by approved certification bodies stipulate marketing of products labelled organic. The article describes basic points (inspection of production process instead of final product) and legal background of the system. Development of the concept is presented: from the voluntary agreements within the industry to current legal reąuirements.
