W artykule przedstawiono stan zaawansowania metod ilościowego opisu zależności parametrów chara- kteryzujących jakość wlewka ciągłego od parametrów reprezentujących proces COS i stan ciekłej stali. Podano definicje i sposoby pomiaru parametrów jakości wlewka ciągłego oraz zestawiono najistotniejsze parametry charakteryzujące technologię COS. Z przeprowadzonej analizy dostępnych danych oraz na podstawie badań własnych dotyczących opracowywania zależności parametrów charakteryzu- jących jakość wlewka ciągłego (PJW) od parametrów technologicznych procesu COS (PPT) wynika, że wpływ zmian PPT na wartość PJW jest wyraźnie mierzalny, ale często występują znaczne rozrzuty wartości korelowanych. Obserwowany rozrzut wynika głównie z wpływu innych parametrów procesu niż te, które mierzono. Uściślenie ustalonych tendencji i wartości progowych wymaga rozbudowy bazy danych, rozszerzenia zestawu mierzonych parametrów technologicznych oraz zwiększenia dokładności pomiarów, ale przede wszystkim zidentyfikowania i usunięcia przyczyn powstawania wad wlewka związanych z konstrukcją urządzeń i ich obsługą.:db_del(

The paper presents existing methodologies used for quantitative prediction of relations between quality of continuously castsemi-products and parameters representing continuous casting process conditions and properties of molten steel. Definitions of quality parameters and metdods of their measurement were presented together with most important parameters charasterising continuous casting practices. An analysis of a vailable data and results of authors' own investigations concerning relations between product quality parameters (PJW) and continuous casting practice parame- ters (PPT) indicates that the effects of changes in PPT on the level of PJW are clearly measurable although the scatter of the correlated valued is often significant. The scatter is caused usually by effects of certain process parameters which were not covered by the measurements. Precise valuation of the trends and the threshold values requires expansion of the database, extension of the list of process parameters being measured and improvement of accuracy of the measurements as well as identification and removal of sources of defects related to design and operation of continuous casting machines.
