The paper presents the concepts and the basic structure of decision support system in the form of an additional layer of an ERP system. Any decision can be interpreted as a response to the properly formulated question that meets the existing constraints. Novel mechanism was introduced to the automatic generation of questions in the form of CLP (Constraint Logic Programming) predicates or MIP (Mixed Integer Programming) models. As an illustrative example, the optimization problem of allocation of pallets in distribution center has been presented.
