Współczesny "turbo-świat" charakteryzuje wzrost niepewności, ryzyka nieoznaczoności i nieprzewidywalności. Na tym tle postępuje kryzys wiary i to nie tylko w wymiarze religijnym, ale także w świeckim, gdzie wiarę rozumie się jako zaufanie do innych ludzi, instytucji i urządzeń technicznych. Postępującej erozji ulega wiara w to, co na zewnątrz nas, tj. w idee, autorytety, wartości, naukę, sztandarowe hasła oraz w to, co wewnątrz nas, tj. w możliwość skutecznego działania, w sens życia i w samych siebie. Wiara jest ważnym składnikiem naszego środowiska życia. Jest podstawowym warunkiem naszego życia. Na niej opiera się optymizm, nadzieja, oczekiwanie spełnienia zamierzeń, wola działania, myślenie o przyszłości, chęć i sens życia. Jeśli ekologię rozumie się w szerokim sensie jako naukę o zależnościach między człowiekiem i różnymi składnikami jego środowiska życia, to w pełni jest uzasadniona ekologia wiary, dzięki której dałoby się odbudować wiarę i chronić ją przed degradacją tak, jak chroni się wodę, glebę atmosferę i inne elementy naszego środowiska życia.

The contemporary "turbo-world" is characterised by an increase of uncertainty, risk of indefinition and unpredictability. This serves as a background for the faith crisis both in religious and in the secular dimension, in which faith is understood as trust towards other people, institutions and technical facilities. Subject to a progressive erosion is faith in what surrounds us: i.e. ideas, authorities, values, science, slogans as well as in what is inside us i.e.: potential of an effective action, sense of life, finally, faith in ourselves. Faith is an important element of our environment. It is the key condition of our life which provides foundations for optimism, hope, expectations to fulfil our dreams, the will of action, thinking about the future, the willingness and sense of living. If ecology is broadly understood as a science on the relationship between the humans and the elements of their living environment, then the ecology of faith seems a fully justified, since it allows for reconstruction of the faith and its protection against degradation similarly as water, soil, the atmosphere and other elements of our living environment are protected.
