Artykuł porusza problemy dotyczące gospodarki odpadami niebezpiecznymi w Polsce w aspekcie naszego członkostwa w Unii Europejskiej. Opisano w nim ogólną problematykę dostosowania Polski do Unii Europejskiej oraz wynikające z tego fakty. Porównano oraz wymieniono główne przepisy prawne dotyczące odpadów niebezpiecznych w Polsce i w krajach Piętnastki. Przedstawione są definicje odpadów niebezpiecznych, a także informacje o tym, gdzie takie odpady powstają oraz co mogą zawierać. Artykuł przedstawia także ogólne problemy gospodarki odpadami niebezpiecznymi oraz propozycje ich rozwiązań, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem polskich problemów i sposobów na ich rozwiązanie.

The article describes the problems concerning the management of dangerous waste in Poland in the light of our membership in the European Community. It also describes the general aspects of the adjustment of Poland to the European Community and what comes out of it. The article also presents the comparison of main legal regulations concerning the disposal of the dangerous waste in Poland and in the European Community. Definitions of the kinds of dangerous waste, as well as information concerning their production and content are also presented. The article shows some general problems of the dangerous waste management as well as the proposed solutions of them. In particular it touches upon Polish problems and ways of dealing with them.
