Wyniki przeprowadzonego w 2006 r. przez PricewaterhouseCoopers ogólnoświatowego badania przedsiębiorstw użyteczności publicznej wskazują, że ponad 51% firm spodziewa się w najbliższym czasie dużych wyzwań związanych z zapewnieniem bezpieczeństwa dostaw i dostrzega utrzymującą się perspektywę istotnych zakłóceń dostaw surowców energetycznych.1 Obawy dotyczące bezpieczeństwa dostaw znalazły się również, według respondentów, na pierwszym miejscu rankingu sześciu najważniejszych kwestii dla rozwoju sektora energetycznego. Wiele czynników wpływa na rozwiązania dotyczące kwestii poszukiwania nowych kierunków dostaw paliw. Należą do nich zagadnienia związane z geopolityką, jak również czynniki natury czysto ekonomicznej.

According to the results of the PricewaterhouseCoopers "Global Utilities Survey" conducted in 2006, more than 51% of companies expect significant challenges associated with ensuring the security of supplies in the near future and have noticed the continued prospect of significant disruptions in fuel supplies. In the respondents' opinion, concerns about the security of supplies are at the top of the list of the six most important issues affecting the development of the power sector. The solutions to the issue of seeking new directions of fuel supplies depend on a number of factors, which include both geopolitical and purely economic issues.
