Jednym z najnowszych przedstawicieli interfejsów szeregowych jest port Thunderbolt, oparty na protokołach PCI Express i DisplayPort, umożliwiający transmisję danych z dużymi szybkościami. Niniejszy artykuł prezentuje architekturę interfejsu Thunderbolt, opisuje budowę modelu komunikacyjnego, przewodu oraz wyjaśnia pojęcie meta-protokołu Thunderbolt.

One of newer serial interface is Thunderbolt port, which is based on the PCI Express and DisplayPort protocol, and transmits data at high speed. This paper presents the architecture of Thunderbolt interface, describes structure of the communication model, cable and explains term meta-protocol Thunderbolt.
