Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie istoty logistyki odwrotnej oraz roli jaką odgrywa ta koncepcja w zarządzaniu zwrotami produktów niepełnowartościowych. Logistyka odwrotna współcześnie odgrywa kluczową rolę w nowoczesnych przedsiębiorstwach, gdyż jej procesy ściśle są wpisane w realizację priorytetów zrównoważonego rozwoju. Logistyka odwrotna umożliwiając poprawne zarządzanie produktami niepełnowartościowymi wspiera przedsiębiorstwa w aspektach finansowym, ekologicznym i społecznym. W artykule zaprezentowano przegląd definicji logistyki odwrotnej, określono charakterystykę produktów niepełnowartościowych oraz możliwości zarządzania nimi przy pomocy procesów logistyki odwrotnej.

The objective of the paper is to present the essence of reverse logistics and the role of this concept in management of defective products returns. Nowadays reverse logistics plays the key role in modern enterprises because its processes are strongly connected with realization of sustainable development priorities. Reverse logistics by allowing for proper management of defective products is supporting enterprises in financial, ecological and social aspects. In the paper there are presented review of reverse logistics definitions, characteristics of defective products and possibilities of their management with usage of reverse logistics processes.
