Niniejszy artykuł jest krótkim podsumowaniem dotychczasowych rozważań autora na temat współczesnych struktur zamieszkiwania, będących wynikiem badań w ramach, rozpoczętego w 2014 roku, autorskiego programu badawczego: W poszukiwaniu współczesnego domu. Celem działań jest ustanowienie, poprzez analizę porównawczą, zweryfikowanych kryteriów oceny pojęcia domu nieodłącznie związanego z obecną architekturą mieszkaniową. Kwestiami rozwiniętymi w badaniach są: pożądany wizerunek domu jako budynku wolnostojącego, jego organizacja przestrzenna wobec przemian społeczno-kulturowych, równowaga między racjonalną produkcją zasobów mieszkaniowych a jakością architektury oraz mityczna relacja kolektywu do krajobrazu. Niniejszy tekst dotyczy jednego z aspektów: elastyczności.

This article is a short summary of the author's considerations to date on contemporary housing structures, which are the result of research as part of the original research program started in 2014: In search of a contemporary house. The aim of the activities is to establish, through a comparative analysis, verified criteria for assessing the concept of a home inherent in the current residential architecture. The issues elaborated in the text are: the desired image of the house as a free-standing building, its spatial organization in the face of socio-cultural changes, the balance between the rational production of housing resources and the quality of architecture, and the mythical relationship of the collective to the landscape. The following text addresses one of the criteria: flexibility.
