EN

The MARIA high-flux research reactor operated at the National Centre for Nuclear Research is used to produce various radioisotopes and to run physical experiments. Report describes the technical parameters of the reactor and enumerates different targets used to irradiation and radioisotopes production including molibdenum-99, a radioisotope necessary for production of cancer -treatment medicines. Each week of operation of the reactor means medicines for 100,000 hospital patient. The programme of special conference organized on the occasion of 40-th anniversary of the MARIA reactor first criticality (December 16-th 2014) was presented in the article.
