Artykuł dotyczy kształtowania form mebli, które mają postać cienkich płyt zakrzywionych w jednym kierunku i zginanych w tym kierunku. Uwzględniono meble o różnych schematach statycznych pod działaniem najbardziej niekorzystnych ob¬ciążeń użytkowych. Dokonano omówienia pracy ich konstrukcji i przedstawiono metody jakościowego wykonywania wy¬kresów momentów zginających. Materiał zawarty w artykule może być źródłem inspiracji do projektowania płyt tych mebli o zmiennej grubości, które nie wymagają wykorzystania dużych ilości materiału i spełniają warunki wytrzymałościowe.

The article concerns shaping forms of furniture. The pieces of furniture are in the shape of thin plates curved in one direc-tion and bent in the same direction. Different static schemes are considered and the most unfavourable loads are applied. Structural behaviour of these items of furniture is discussed and qualitative methods how to draw bending moment dia-grams are presented. The material contained in the paper can be a source of inspiration for the design of variable thickness plates, which are optimal in terms of material consumption and satisfy the conditions of strength.
