Nuclear techniques in coal and metal ore mining

Abstrakty
Na różnych etapach poprzedzających eksploatację złóż, przemysł górnictwa kopalin stałych wymaga szybkich, lecz dokładnych, analiz tych złóż. Profilowania odwiertów bazujące na metodach geofizyki jądrowej generalnie oferują najlepszą drogę do osiągnięcia tego celu. Zawarty w tym artykule przegląd metod i urządzeń jądrowych stosowanych w górnictwie bazuje na badaniach i stosowanych prowadzonych przez CSIRO w ostatnich trzydziestu latach. Przedstawione zostały przykłady zastosowań i wdrożeń w górnictwie węgla oraz górnictwie rud Fe, Mn, Cu i Zn-Pb.
At different stages preceding the exploitation of deposits, the solid mineral mining industry requires quick, but accurate analyses of these deposits. Prospecting of boreholes based on nuclear geophysics methods generally offer the best way to achieve this aim. The comprised in the article review of nuclear methods and equipment used in the mining industry is based on strategies and applied investigations conducted through CSIRO in the last thirty years. Examples of applications and implementations in coal mining as well as Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn-Pb ore mining have been presented.
