This paper presents an analysis of interdependence between the final net production and gross net production on one hand and the greenhouse gases' emission at farms of various production profiles, on the other. In its drawing up there was used the research material from the Farming Economics and Organization Institute. The data had been obtained from the Farming Ledgers kept by appropriately trained farmers. The investigated farms had been divided into two groups: the farms specializing in plant production and those specializing in animal production. For the former ones the selection criterion applied was 80-100% share of vegetal production in the final gross production whilst into the group specializing in animal production there were included the farms, where the animal production share in the final gross production was over 60%. The farms specializing in animal production were divided into 6 production profiles: cattle, poultry, milk, fat stock and herd breeding. Two indices were calculated in order to compare various farms from the point of view of greenhouse gases' emission per production unit: the GHG emission per unit of net final production and the GHG emission per unit of gross net production. The GHG emission per unit of final net production and gross net production was lowest at plant and herd breeding farms and the highest in the fattening and dairy ones. In step with an increase in acreage of the farms specializing in animal production emission per production unit decreases. The highest GHG emission per unit of net production and final net production occurred at the farms specializing in animal production in the 5-10 hectares.
