W artykule omówiono zagadnienie spalania odpadów komunalnych (SOK) w aspekcie narażenia zdrowotnego osób mieszkających w pobliżu instalacji SOK oraz pracowników tych instalacji. Przytoczone dane z piśmiennictwa o wynikach badań epidemiologicznych nad zdrowotnymi skutkami narażenia na czynniki chemiczne emitowane przez SOK są rozbieżne, ale stanowią wstępny sygnał o prawdopodobnym ryzyku zdrowotnym.

The article discusses a problem of utility refuse deflagration in the context of dangerous exposure for the people living near the area of such an installation and those who work with it. Datas here presented, these about the results of epidemiologic research and those about health consequences of exposure to factors emitted by utility refuse, are different. They are though the first signal about a very possible risk for human health.
