The Russian invasion into Ukraine coincided with a surge in cryptocurrency interest in both nations. Although the decentralized nature of cryptocurrencies facilitates wealth concealment, analyses conducted during the Invasion period reveal no substantial capital transfers or exchange rate fluctuations exceeding pre-invasion benchmarks. This implies a limited utilization of cryptocurrencies for protecting assets throughout the conflict. The current size of the cryptomarket preclude Russia and its oligarchs from depending on cryptocurrencies as an alternative to traditional transaction systems. Nevertheless, cryptocurrencies have effectively functioned as an auxiliary crowdfunding avenue for Ukraine. The Invasion serves as an examination of the potential role of cryptocurrencies in crisis situations, with their importance for national security and crisis management likely to expand as the market experiences continued growth.

Chociaż zdecentralizowany charakter kryptowalut ułatwia ukrywanie bogactwa, to analizy przeprowadzone w okresie inwazji nie ujawniają znaczących transferów kapitałowych ani wahań kursów wymiany przekraczających poziomy odniesienia sprzed inwazji.
