W artykule przedstawiono potrzebę, cele i korzyści stosowania symulacyjnych modeli złożowych w pracach badawczych służących górnictwu naftowemu. Przedstawiono krótki rys historyczny rozwoju nowoczesnych metod modelowania i symulacji złożowych w pracach INiG-PIB wykonywanych na potrzeby polskich i zagranicznych firm z branży górnictwa naftowego. Opisano najważniejsze projekty badawcze i rozwojowe w tej dziedzinie zrealizowane w INiG-PIB. Zaprezentowano światowe kierunki rozwoju zagadnień modelowania i symulacji złożowych oraz plany poszerzenia możliwości INiG-PIB w tym zakresie.

The paper presents the needs, aims and advantages of using reservoir modeling and simulations to solve problems of oil and gas exploration and production. It includes historical description of the reservoir modeling development in the projects performed by OGI-NRI for Polish oil and gas industry. Main projects of this type are shortly presented. Directions of further development of the reservoir modeling and simulation are discussed and the next future plans of OGI-NRI in the field are revealed.
