From electroanalytical convection to amalgam structures

Abstrakty
The author described in short the cooperation with Professor Galus on field of electroanalysis and investigations of physico-chemical features of amalgams. This cooperation was a very important inspiration to preparation of subsequent critical elaborations for the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry related to solubility of all elements in liquid alkali metals as well as to solubility of halogens of rare earth metals in aqueous solutions. It was strongly underlined that various physico-chemical properties related to binary and multicomponent systems ought to be intermittently verified. It was observed that solubilities as well as phase diagrams of certain systems (metals and non-metals in mercury) correlate quite well with positions of component elements in the periodic table.
