Abstrakty

EN

The main objective of the article are the green areas of large housing estates. Recently the green areas have became the subject of conflict of interests between private developers, residents and environmentalists. The case study of Ursynów Północny in Warsaw indicates that space of a housing estate consists of different types of environment which can meet different demands and interests. The urban structure of an estate can become spatial framework for chanelling ongoing urban processes into sustainable development.
