The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is undertaking a broad spectrum of actions in the capacity of projects - ranging from military operations, through a typical investment projects up to the miscellaneous assistance projects carried out within the framework of partnership programs. This article focuses on NATO activities in the implementation of assistance projects. The issue of such projects is an extremely interesting and simultaneously a relatively little explored question. These projects own their specificity, which differentiates them from similar projects conducted by other International organizations - their aim is to deliver stabilization and reconstruction after the conflict, as well as to resolve problems arising in consequence of a military operation. The paper provides an overview of assistance projects carried out by NATO and a description of the methodology supported by an example of the already completed project.
