Due to the new European Emission Euro5 Regulation, car and engine producers are obliged to indicate and respect the number of the solid particles in the emission exhaust. This does not only apply to CI engines, like in the past, but now also to SI engines. In this article, the method for solid particle counting used by HORIBA as well as the particle counter developed by HORIBA is described. Author took part in the process of coming into being of mentioned apparatus.

Zgodnie z przepisami nowej normy EURO 5, producenci samochodów i silników są zobowiązani do przestrzegania limitów cząstek stałych zawartych w emitowanych spalinach. Odnosi się to nie tylko do silników z zapłonem samoczynnym (CI), ale obecnie także do silników z zapłonem iskrowym (SI). W niniejszym artykule opisano nową metodę pomiaru emisji cząstek stałych w spalinach silnika. Autor uczestniczył w procesie powstawania przedstawionego w analizatora MEXA-1000SPCS, w którym zastosowano opisaną metodę badawczą.
