The article describes modern methods of log debarking using rotor debarkers. The roller debarkers debark logs using friction and mechanical means. Like drum debarkers, they are an on-mass system and can debark multiple logs at the same time. The rotor debarkers are designed for debarking of logs for the OSB board industry, panel board (PB, MDF) industry, pellet and briquette industry and pulp and paper industry. The rotor debarker is esspecially used for logs that are especially hard to debark and for frozen wood. The article describes modern solutions of Pallmann, Acrowood and Dieffenbacher of rotor debarkers.
