Abstrakty

EN

The article presents the subject matter, tools and mechanisms of information warfare. The areas of information warfare and relations between them have been discussed. The increasing role of information and information systems on a modern battefield have been shown. It has been evaluated that influencing only information – control systems, the enemy may disable or destroy essential elements of civilian and military infrastructure, the attacker may conceal his identity, whereas the attacked country may not be able to pinpoint the aggressor precisely. It has been stated that information warfare elements can be applied in all possible war scenarios. What is more, applied tools of information technology may cause not only losses due to fighting but in a short time lead to extreme destruction of a well organised system of the whole modern state.
